Like most artists, I have a day job. Fortunately, my day job makes me a better, more practiced painter. That’s because I’m an artist in my day job as well as in the studio.

  •           In my day job I work as a public artist and an architectural artwork restorer/replicator. For public art projects, I make large scale, realistic, figurative, trompe l’oeil paintings on the facades of buildings, highway underpasses, school walls, and pedestrian bridges. In my work as an architectural art restorer or replicator, I repair or replace paintings on walls, ceilings, canvas and even a 250 year old Chinese house. In my day job, I think about budgets, work schedules, hiring and training artists, supply inventory or where I put the keys for the boom lift.
  •             In the studio I make abstract trompe l’oeil paintings. I live in a remote wilderness area of the Adirondack Park in upstate New York amid mountains rich with tall pines and dark lakes that reflect and interpret the skies and heavens above. For the past two decades my abstract trompe l'oeil paintings have shown what I think of as Earth's personal holiday snapshots as it travels through space at compelling moments.
